12 May – Meeting of Parishioners
Parish of Burton-upon-Trent. A meeting for the election of churchwardens will be held at 12 noon on Sunday 12 May 2024 at St.Modwen’s Church.
The meeting is to be attended by:
- Those persons whose names are entered on the church electoral roll of this parish, and
- those persons resident in this parish whose names are entered on a register of local government electors by reason of such residence,
- and only such persons.
9 May – Ascention Day
The Bishop of Lichfield will join us for a service at 7:30am. We may sing from the high tower again!
Breakfast afterwards. Please sign-up (list inside the church) to attend.
5 May – Sixth Sunday of Easter
The next Sunday service will be prayers which starts at 11am.

We know that it’s not always possible come to the church to attend the Sunday service, but there’s no need to miss out on the day’s sermon. You can read it here, plus past sermons.
There are not many here yet, but more will be added week by week.
Historical Records
We have begun a project to make some of our records available online. These include churchyard maps and grave indexes, and church memorial inscriptions. These are very useful for historians and genealogists.
