The Revd. Dr. Stanley Monkhouse
In great sadness and shock we have to announce that Stanley, our last Vicar, died suddenly at his home in Rangemore Street on Friday morning. His passing was sudden, unexpected and quick.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Susan and Ed and Victoria, and with all who are shaken by this news.

The Bishop has appointed the Revd. Simon Archer, currently Team Vicar in the Kidderminster Teams Ministry, to be the new Vicar of Horninglow andPriest-in-Charge of SS Aiden and Paul, in Burton. Simon will join us in the autumn. Please pray for Simon and his wife Jane as they prepare to join us.

Our new website – this website – has been launched. It is the new online home for St.Modwen’s Church.

Robin Trotter will be licensed as Rural Dean at Tutbury on Tuesday 13 June at Rangemore, at a meeting of the Deanery Synod.
St Paul’s and St.John’s have their advertisement for a new vicar in the Church Times. Interest has been shown. A candidate to replace Fr Graham at Hoar Cross is coming for interview soon.
News from 2022
Changes at The Burton Three
A re-organisation of the parishes within Burton by the Diocese means that the parishes of St Modwen’s, St Aidan’s and St Paul’s will no longer in the same benefice.
The licensing of Fr Michael Freeman as Priest-in-charge of St Aidan’s and St Paul’s took place at St Paul’s Church on Thursday 30th June by Bishop Matthew. The parishes of St Paul’s and St Aidan’s will therefore be linked with St John’s, Horninglow.
In the short term we will continue to operate this website and associated Facebook page as ‘The Burton Three’. Rev Robin Trotter continues to be licensed to all churches and therefore a link of some degree continues.
